战神在2018年4月20日发售的重启作品之后叫好又叫座，所以续作肯定是板上钉钉的事。新作从18年开始（就算有休息也不会休息半年多吧，索尼可没这耐心）到20年中期，开发是肯定在进行的，由于现在PS5根本没有发售，我觉得第一方工作室利用次世代主机开发新作的可能性不是太大（有待质疑）。独占作品登陆新旧两个平台无疑是利益最大化的选择，就算PS5兼容PS4，也可以利用PS5的强大性能来达到PS4所不能做到的特性，可以参考PS3和PS4的叫好又叫座的跨世代作品《最后生还者》，尽管PS4根本没有兼容PS3，或许为双平台的独占争取了一些销量，但是总有一些富二代愿意花几个红毛老头来体验老主机获得不到的快感。
另外，2016年被称为VR元年，可见VR技术在主机上已经有所引用。尽管支持VR的游戏屈指可数，体验也不太尽如人意，但是作为一种新兴技术，在下一代主机上肯定会越来越多的见到它的身影，而且肯定被优化VR的体验感，这也是PS4所不能做到的。
